2. Can you help me understand what you’re feeling right now? 
3. I would feel that way, too, if I saw it that way
4. Can we take a break and own what we are each contributing? 
5. Can you say that in a way I can hear?
6. What I hear you saying is…
7. Can we pause for 5 minutes?
8. Will you forgive me?
9. Can we go again? 
10. Ask them a question about what they said
11. Can I have a few minutes to think about what you are saying?
12. I can understand why you feel that way.
